“Once Upon a Time”

Love came first as wounds on my knee,
a bad penmanship in my colorful diaries

a damp pillow of a sulking child
by the window,
as if she got the worst present,
a run-down dollhouse
she could only resent

Then there’s a promise of forgetting
to let the heart dream of nothing

But love arrived like
fiction coming true
and how can you neglect a love
that made a hero in you?

Yours truly
